Unqualified

Do you feel unqualified? Do you feel like God is reaching out to you but you dismiss it because you think there is someone better, smarter, more experienced than you. Do you stay quiet and withhold truths that have been revealed to you for fear of making people feel uncomfortable or misunderstand you or reject you. If this is you, let me help shed some light on those thoughts because I have had them, many times but in those thoughts I heard, well so was Simon Peter. In reading the descriptions of Peter and how completely human he was in his mistakes but was still able to change and bring people to Christ brings hope. Hope that no matter how long it takes for you to welcome Christ into your life, to follow him and be obedient to his word, he won’t give up on you. God wants us, he wants all of us regardless of what we’ve done, what we’ve been through, what we think, and what we haven’t done. He loves us.

If you are someone that has been feeling that tug but has been running away from it due to hard life experiences, know that he has been with you through them. This too comes from a place of experience, so I don’t type these words carelessly but with a lot of compassion. The enemy wants to take our bad experiences, the sins of the flesh, to consume our souls with anger and pain. Please understand me, I don’t dismiss the hurt that comes from being mistreated, abused or harmed in any way. But through discernment and truth, God has revealed to me that they are blessings that help shape us into the people we are needed to be in bringing his truth to others. It may take some time, and that is ok, but I encourage you to talk to him. Close your eyes and start a conversation with Jesus from your heart. Picture him holding your hand and as you tell him of the scars you have, I pray that in that moment Jesus reveals to you that that pain, that suffering was letting you in to his experience so that you could connect with him on an immensely deep level that only he could share with you, so that you could be his voice now, here to comfort those that may share a similar story as yours. God chose you because he knew you would bring good to something that was initiated for bad. 1 Peter 2: 21 For hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps.

If you are someone who has been raised in faith and has had some form of the word in your life, now is the time we need to be more intentional in sharing it. Ephesians 4: 25 Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. We need to be his voice. Spread it as much as you can and just pray for God to magnify it. We don’t have to be perfect, we don’t have to take on the burdens of this whole world and think we are supposed to fix it. God has already sent his son to save us, we just need to be reminders of that. To share that what is in the Gospel is really true and that the guidance and direction given by Jesus is our solution to our current state. Be prepared, the enemy will not want this. He wants the turmoil to thrive, to continue to distract us and preoccupy us. He would like us to believe that belief in the bible is lunacy or a fantasy or a form of perfection that is unachievable so why read it. Well we are living in a time where the impossible is seeming more possible every day. We need to pray for direction and obedience to his will and to share his word every opportunity we have. Stay focused on the Lord and do not look left or right. Do not let doubt or fear interrupt our intent to bring peace.
Joshua 1:9 Be strong and of good courage; be not affrighted, neither be thou dismayed: for Jehovah they God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
2 Timothy 3 14-17 But abide thou in the things which thou has learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; and that from a babe thou hast known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness.
